Surgeon

Dr. Rajiv Nakarmi

Biography

Dr. Rajiv Nakarmi has an impressive background as a consultant Surgeon with four years of experience in the Department of General & GI Surgery at Manmohan Memorial Medical College & Teaching Hospital. In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Nakarmi has also pursued further specialization through a one-year clinical fellowship in GI & HGP Minimal Invasive Surgery (General & Oncosurgery) from Chi Mei Medical Center in Taiwan.

During his clinical fellowship in Taiwan, Dr. Nakarmi would have received advanced training in the field of General & Oncosurgery, specifically focusing on gastrointestinal (GI) and hepatopancreatobiliary (HGP) surgeries. Minimal invasive surgery techniques, also known as laparoscopic or keyhole surgery, are an advanced surgical approach that utilizes specialized instruments and smaller incisions, resulting in reduced post-operative pain, shorter hospital stays, and quicker recovery times for patients.

Dr. Nakarmi’s clinical fellowship in Taiwan would have provided him with the opportunity to work closely with highly skilled surgeons and gain exposure to a wide range of complex GI and HGP surgical cases. He would have been trained in performing various laparoscopic procedures, including but not limited to, laparoscopic cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder), laparoscopic appendectomy (removal of the appendix), laparoscopic colectomy (removal of a part of the colon), laparoscopic gastrectomy (removal of the stomach), and laparoscopic liver resection (removal of a part of the liver). Additionally, he would have received training in managing gastrointestinal malignancies, such as colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, and pancreatic cancer, using minimal invasive techniques.

Dr. Nakarmi’s clinical fellowship in Taiwan would have also exposed him to the latest advancements in GI and HGP minimal invasive surgery, including the use of advanced laparoscopic equipment, robotic-assisted surgery, and other cutting-edge technologies. He would have learned how to evaluate patients, diagnose conditions, plan and execute surgical procedures, and manage post-operative care in the context of GI and HGP surgeries.
